Book of Shadows
Book of Shadows review
The Lucky Locks feature, similar to Microgaming's Hyperspins, allows you to lock up to 4 reels after each spin. This feature comes at a cost, dependent on the number of locked reels and symbols present. For instance, locking two scatters in hopes of a third will be more expensive than a spin without this potential outcome.
Additionally, there is an option to gamble your winnings in a double or nothing game where you choose between red and black cards. This feature can be used up to five times with a maximum payout of €500,000. What sets this game apart is the ability to also gamble for the free spins bonus round through the Wheel of Bonus feature. The chances of winning increase with a higher bet (up to 60x stake), and a red segment on the wheel determines if you win 10 free spins.
Instead of repeating "golden symbol" multiple times, a special symbol will be selected at the start of the feature, known as the Golden symbol. If you are dissatisfied with the result on your first try, you can reshuffle the deck. However, be aware that this may downgrade the Golden symbol and you must accept whatever comes on your second attempt. The Golden symbols will expand to cover the entire reel after the regular win calculation. The expanded reels do not have to be adjacent to win, so even a stack of 5 goth girl reels can earn you 10,000x your stake.
Additionally, you may retrigger the bonus round by landing 3 or more scatters on the reels. On average, this free spins round is triggered every 150 spins. If desired (not available for UK players), players also have the choice to buy the feature for a cost of 60x-120x their stake for 10 free spins with varying numbers of rows.
