Handheld blackjack by Micro Games of America from 1994 - Full review

There was a time when gambling was simpler and quite accessible to everyone, although it was missing the innovation and sparkle from today. We're talking about handheld retro gaming, yes. 

Pretty much anyone could buy a handheld gambling game, even minors, as outrageous as that might seem today.
Since we're somewhat owners of a melancholic temper and collectors of slices of history, we’ve taken this very short trip down memory lane, and we’re introducing you to the Vintage Blackjack game from Micro Games of America, straaaaight from 1994.

Just check out this retro LCD action. It may seem hard to believe people once found this to be fun, right? Well, the concept of “fun” has known many forms and standards throughout time, especially in gambling. 

Back then, MGA was huge on handhelds: arcade hits like Pac-Man and Space Invaders, licensed games from Goosebumps to RoboCop, plus sports and more casino titles.
In the late '90s, the company rebranded as MGA Entertainment, and shifted to manufacturing toys and dolls. Later they scooped up Little Tikes and Pixel Zoo. Quite the journey from miniature blackjack to a real toy empire!
